On May 23-27 Saab TransponderTech held a presetation at IEC TC80 WG15 Mtg43.
Saab presented the work performed in Prepare Ships and a submission proposing a method to send ATON reports via VDE-SAT, and a method to output them in a format that today’s ECDIS system can understand. The function of translating the VDE-SAT message into a traditional AIS ATON report is seen as an “APP” that must be present in a VDES system.
